The Department of Botany of this college was inaugurated in 1991 and honours courses were introduced in 2002. At present over 100 students are attached to this department from honours and general streams. There are six teaching faculties and one GLI in our department. They spare no pains to utilise their honesty and industry to impart affordable and attractive education through the ICT method of teaching and learning as far as practicable. At present the teachers are attached to the different fields of research activities. The department constantly attempts to improve academic competency and innovative creativity through teaching-learning, research, and extension activities. The students are the heart of our department. They organise and participate in various excursion programs, outreach activities, cultural programs, etc. The students always motivate us with their brilliant results and warm behavior. We feel glad to announce the Department of Botany as one of our college's best departments. At present, we are offering a certificate course on Mushroom cultivation. The students participate in all these activities with great zeal and enthusiasm. In the near future, we plan to open PG courses in Botany in this department if everything permits.
