The Present Under Graduate (U.G.) Honours Department started its journey with the introduction of the Under Graduate General Course in the year 2008 and the Honours Graduate Course was introduced in 2009 under Vidyasagar University. There are 02 full-time assistant professors and also 03 W.B. Govt. approved State Aided College Teachers (SACT), therefore 05 faculty members at present in the Department. The Department is well equipped with modern laboratories like soil testing, modern teaching aids along with a computer (PowerPoint presentation), internet facilities, fieldwork equipment, and Extensive Field work in local areas & all over India. Our department publishes a yearly wall magazine named “CHANDRAYAAN” and organizes the departmental Quiz contest (subject related), fresher’s welcome & farewell ceremony also. A good quality seminar library is there having about 500 books.
The department is proceeding satisfactorily with an increasing number of students and their brilliant performance.
The faculty members are trying their best for further development of the result.
The students of the department take part in NCC, NSS, and other social activities also.
