Department of philosophy is one of the oldest department. The department advance philosophical understanding through teaching. This subject emphasizes on careful reading, Logical reasoning. It provides the students to maintain a disciplined and moral life. The department is committed to fostering student’s engagement with important philosophical idea such as contemporary Indian Philosophy and students can able to know the application of philosophical idea in all sphere of life.

As a Head of the Department since April 2000 I am serving my responsibilities. I with all other faculties of the department have been trying our level best for the development of our department.

By giving hand-outs and study materials we try to solve their needs. Remedial classes as well as tutorial classes taken for the improvement of the slow and advanced learners. We also motivate them to pursue higher education and competitive exam. Some of the students established them in the academic line as well as private sector.

All the faculty members are trying to impart their knowledge by classroom teaching and video lectures, by which students can able to gain knowledge about the subject in a broader perspective. To develop the inherent ability of writing every year students of our department  publish a will magazine ‘Charbak’.

 The department has a departmental library of its won, which provides books for the students when needed throughout the year.

 The faculty members are engaged in research and academic activities to improve and update themselves. We, the faculties the students and Alumni of the department are trying our best for the improvement of our department
