Narajole Raj College one of the oldest college in Midnapore district. The college flourished with a becon of learning in a rural society, ushered a new path of higher education and endeavored the dreams and necessities of young generation in line with national policy.

The Department of Philosophy, Narajole Raj College began its journey with the establishment of the institution on September 12, 1966. The department has had been contributing intermediate (1.A) course   in philosophy 1966. Thereafter the department was functioning its elective course of studies. The Department got its honours affiliation from Vidyasagar University in the month of October during the session 2013-14. The general course of studies remains as usual. A large number of students took up the subject as their elective option. 

The rich journey was flagged off by Professor Dhiren Ghosh, Professor A.Bhunia next took over and the race has been continued by Professor T. Acharya, Brilliant Guest teachers have added ably to the tradition of imparting knowledge with sincerity. Presently the department boasts of 4 faculty members of which prof. Dr. T. Acharya , Dr. B. Mahato, Prof. S. Tudu hold substantial position and A. Ghosh is State Aided College Teacher.
